Luminari Interior Design Philosophy: What to Expect
Hello, Hello !
Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine’s Day !
I’ve been traveling to visit family in India since mid January, and have been working from a cozy spot on my parent’s front porch, soaking in all the sunshine.
As the valentine’s day was approaching, i began reflecting on all the different ways i have felt and experienced love in the past year; from people, places and things.
On this valentine’s day, my heart is full of love and i am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by my extended family and friends here in India and reflect on all the love and laughter shared with friends and family in the States.
During my India travel, i couldn’t help but fall more in love with rich architectural heritage and vibrant culture. Everyday is a celebration of some sort and all celebrations include rich textiles and colorful tapestry. I am reminded daily, why i fell in love with interior design and what shaped my design philosophy.

As a Vermont interior designer, my philosophy is straightforward: I believe that the most beautiful and meaningful aspects of life emerge from the desire for transformation, personal growth, and the need to rebuild– and that the best things in life are born out of the need for reinvention. Oftentimes, this reinvention requires not just change on the inside, but change in our physical environment as well.
Born and raised in India and with two decades of work experience in the financial services industry, the person I am today is the product of a dynamic blend of life experiences, shifts in direction, and a multitude of choices. I’ve followed my own path and have been forced to embrace change– both positive and negative– but believe that every experience has shaped me along the way. While some of the choices I’ve made were certainly unexpected, each and every one of them was necessary to my personal growth, and filled me with excitement.
Throughout my journey across various communities and industries, each transformation has brought a unique set of experiences and challenges with it that have influenced my approach to design. As a result, my interior design philosophy revolves around the idea of embracing change. This philosophy finds its expression in the form of a design mosaic that’s rooted in narrative: crafted over time and authentically tailored to reflect the essence of each person. This approach is what gives my work its sense of authenticity.
Our Process
Renovations, whether within commercial interiors or residential spaces, often prove to be more challenging than expected– causing stress and frustration. If you're eager to fast-track your journey to a beautiful living space tailored to your needs, personal experience, and lifelong journey, Luminari Interiors is here to help.
1.Schedule a Discovery Call
During our personalized interior design consultation, I’ll meet with you either one-on-one in person or virtually to discuss your needs for the project in question. My process includes not only questions about your space, but questions about who you are as a person. What do you value most about your space? How have your previous experiences contributed to what you’re looking for now? I’ll take both the information about your space and the people experiencing it into consideration when putting together plans for its design.
2. Project Kickoff
Once we both agree to move forward and contract is squared away, this is where I get to work dreaming up designs that fit your space while weaving your stories into 3-dimensional tales.
3. Finalize the Design Details
My design process is deeply collaborative, ensuring that you, your team, or your family are as much a part of the design process as is appropriate.
4. Implementation & Celebration
This is the part with the most action. We’ll take our carefully laid plans from the drawing board and bring them to life in your space. That’s always a reason to celebrate!
From consultation to celebration, it's important to me that my interior design philosophy is held front and center through the entire process. When you partner with Luminari Interiors to help manifest your next chapter, I’ll help you create a space that’s YOU-niquely yours.
